Saudi Automotive Services Company (SASCO) announces that on 3 October 2018 one of its subsidiary companies (Saudi Automobile Association Co. - SATA) has signed agreement with The General Authority of Customs of Saudi Arabia to operate of the customs agreement for the international transport of goods under (TIR).

Under the terms of this agreement, the Saudi Automobile Association Co. (SATA) will be issuing and control of TIR system across the Kingdom, as (SATA) is a member of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) since 2012.

The aim of this agreement is to activate the role of SATA and to transform a representative member of IRU into an active member representing Saudi Arabia and issuing TIR. The financial impact of this agreement is expected to start on second quarter of 2019.

Noting that IRU is international organization which upholds the interests of the road transport industry worldwide to public authorities, private bodies and the media via its global network of national Member Associations, it represents the operators of buses, coaches, taxis and trucks, from large fleets to individual owner-operators. As such, the IRU has a truly global vision and acts effectively at international, regional, national and even local level, through its Members and with public authorities. Also TIR is a simplified system that makes commerce easier and cheaper and is the only global system for transit and security.

The company will announce any rather new information in this regard.
